Whole30 – Day 29

Written by jamie on May 29th, 2017

I woke up with a sore throat. I am feeling very discouraged. I am still tired, still not feeling focused, and still kind of grumpy. And now I might be getting sick.

Breakfast: Three poached eggs. Sweet potato toast (a whole sweet potato worth), half an avocado, and fruit. Hungry again in about two hours.

Lunch: A chicken apple sausage wrapped in romaine lettuce. Potatoes. Frozen grapes. Frozen grapes are a lovely treat that a host family introduced me to on tour. I haven’t actually had them since then, and after having them today I’m not sure why not. It’s a lovely frozen treat.

I forgot to take a picture of the sausage.

Dinner: Steak, plantains (YUM), asparagus.

That’s all I have energy for. I have to go make lunch.

Whole 30 – Day 28

Breakfast: I made a three egg omelet without cheese. It ended up being open faced, cause there was no cheese to keep it glued shut.

I ate this along with a side of fruit and about two hours later, I was hungry again. I’m not really sure how much more I can eat. I’m full when I finish the meal, it just doesn’t sustain me for very long. I’ve tried adding more protein, more healthy fats… I’m still hungry.

Lunch: I took my leftover hamburger and ate it with my ketchup and mayonnaise. Potatoes and broccoli slaw, sautéed with coconut aminos. Watermelon.

Dinner: I tried this cauliflower pot pie recipe, tweaked a bit for Whole30. It wasn’t that great.

Whole 30 – Day 27

Written by jamie on May 27th, 2017

Saturday, so we slept in. Glorious. Ended up having two cups of coffee, cause it’s Saturday. I need to stop at one cup. Caffeine does not help my ear. Bit of pressure after cup two.

Breakfast – scrambled eggs, spinach, fruit (finishing off the mixed fruit that I got BOGO at Publix).

Lunch – which ended up being about two hours later cause I was already hungry – leftover chicken from last night, potatoes, olives, romaine lettuce, and squash.

Snack – I packed a snack of almonds, coconut flakes (healthy fat), and carrots.

Dinner – a burger. With romaine as the “bread.” Potatoes. I made mayo and ketchup from scratch too, so that was pretty cool.

One terrible thing about Whole30 – I currently have hiccups. I have a surefire remedy where you swallow a bit of sugar. Hiccups gone right away. I CAN’T HAVE SUGAR. So I’ll just *hic* deal with it.

Whole 30 – Day 26

This day was better, energy wise. A bit more focused too.

Breakfast – Eggs, probably fried. Broccoli, spinach, fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew, etc)

Lunch – leftovers from dinner. Salad. Olives.

Dinner – Chicken, sweet potato, broccoli.

I went grocery shopping and bought a crap ton of produce for the weekend. I also bought La Croix, because it’s Whole30 compliant, and it’s Memorial Day Weekend. I want to feel like I’m kind of drinking something fun.

That's actual alcohol in the background, mocking me.

I did buy a bottle of wine too, because the end Whole30 is nigh.

I also bought natural peanut butter, cause once Day 30 is complete, I begin the reintroduction process. I am gonna slather some peanut butter on an apple, and it’s going to be awesome.
